Whether you’re looking to adopt, get involved, or just enjoy the cuteness — we’re glad you’re here. ❤️

Let’s dive in! 👇

Meet Sadie Joe: an adventurous, clever pup with boundless energy and heart.

This petite, 40-pound dog is equally happy cuddling on the couch or exploring new trails alongside you.

Sadie Joe thrives on activity and curiosity, making her a fantastic companion for anyone who loves training, learning new tricks, or getting outside for daily walks.

Her spirited personality and eagerness to please mean she brings joy wherever she goes, always ready with a wagging tail and bright eyes.

Fort Smith Animal Haven is calling on animal lovers to make a difference through volunteering.

Whether you’re interested in walking dogs, cuddling cats, or supporting shelter events, there’s a place for everyone to help pets in need.

Volunteers provide companionship, comfort, and care for animals awaiting adoption, while enjoying time with like-minded community members.

Tasks include socializing dogs, caring for kennels, assisting with transport, and spreading kindness.

Even an hour helps a shelter pet feel loved and boosts their chance of finding a forever home.

Fort Smith Animal Haven hosts an info session on Sunday, November 2 at 3 PM — the perfect opportunity to learn more and get involved.

Help create brighter futures for local pets, one wag and purr at a time.

💛 Community Spotlight

Truvi Realty + Danyell Barker Supporting Shelter Pets at Greenwood FallFest

A big paws-up to Truvi Realty and Danyell Barker for stepping up to help local shelter pets! 🐾💛

They’re hosting a fundraiser at Bell Park during Greenwood FallFest, helping raise funds and awareness for animals in need at Fort Smith Animal Haven.

Community partners like Truvi Realty make a tremendous impact — helping provide care, supplies, and support for pets waiting on their forever families.

We’re grateful for their commitment to giving back!

Thank you for making a difference for our furry friends! 💛🐾

The River Valley’s passionate animal rescues rely on community generosity every day to deliver life-changing support to pets in need.

If you’re looking to help, donations of basic supplies are always welcomed.

Rescues consistently need blankets, towels, cozy pet beds, collars, leashes, nutritious treats, toys, shampoo, and brushes.

Cleaning items such as bleach, paper towels, trash bags, and pooper scoopers make a real difference in keeping animals healthy.

Essential gifts like dog and cat food of any kind, as well as kennel crates or carriers, are always useful.

Seasonal and safety necessities—like flea, tick, and mosquito prevention and portable fire extinguishers—help protect every animal.

Even picking up one needed item during your next shopping trip supports these lifesaving efforts and keeps tails wagging across the River Valley.

Cold-Weather Tips for Pets

Cooler temps are arriving — here’s how to keep your furry friends safe and cozy:

Bring pets indoors on chilly nights
Short-haired breeds and seniors feel the cold more quickly.

Bundle up for walks
Consider sweaters/jackets for small or short-coat dogs.

Protect those paws
Watch for ice-melt/rock salt; wipe paws after outdoor time.

Add warm bedding
A soft blanket or raised bed helps keep body heat in.

Check water bowls
Make sure water doesn’t freeze — especially outdoors.

🐾 Bonus Tip:
If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them!
